Yours truly is still recovering from a "stomach bug."  It's supposed to be chilly, but not as COLD as today.

So tomorrow's Amelia Island Main Beach bike ride will be "led" by ??????????????? and/or a designated co-ride leader, departing at 9:00 AM from Main Beach, located at South Fletcher Ave. (A1A) and Atlantic Ave., near the Recreation Center and the entrance to Fort Clinch State Park.  We usually park east of the Skateboard Park.  The standard routes are 30-35 miles, but this uniquely designed ride allows riders to cut off loops along the way to reduce the overall distance, if desired.

Online registration with NFBC is required for members and non-members who intend to ride with a group of cyclists on tomorrow's Amelia Island Main Beach ride.  Go to NFBC.us and follow the prompts.

Bicycle helmets are mandatory, as is a bicycle in good working condition. Safe cycling is an absolute must, and safety rules will be emphasized before the start of each ride. As always, cyclists are required to obey all traffic laws, or risk being ticketed by local law enforcement officers...or worse!

Below is a list of upcoming Amelia Island rides through the end of March, 2026, thanks to Ride Leader Emeritus Don Eipert.  Please look it over and let Don E know if anything needs to be changed.

Thanks, Jim! Don is heading over, said he will read the safety briefing, if needed, and I will submit the stats report to NFBC.

Hello All,

We lucked out today with warmer temperatures and sunshine after a few VERY COLD days.  The winds were notable and out of the south which is unusual in recent times.  We had 19 riders today and from all accounts that I’ve (not) received, we had NO injuries, flats, or mechanical problems.  This is my definition of a “good” ride!

There was a running event occurring in the Fort and I was told on “pretty” good authority that it was a group of high school students who were preparing for a marathon that was to occur in the somewhat distant future (probably a good thing because some of the participants didn’t look like marathon material (yet).

Finally, at Mike S’s insistence, I snapped 2 photos and I’m attaching them to this email.

See you soon,

-JIM

Thanks again for leading today, Jim, and for the great photos!  Sorry I had to miss the ride.

Your fan (one of many),

Thanks go out to Jim H and Peter B for leading today's ride.  And here's to a good looking bunch of cycists and friends, as documented by co-co-ride leader Don T's photos, attached.   I will quit now, get back to NFL football, and finish up my recovery from the stomach crud.

Go Hoosiers!

Stay well (and warm), y'all.

Love,
Susan T
