This morning started out gray and chilly, with temperatures in the low 60s. We do have a cold front approaching, so by the time 2026 arrives, forecasters say it will feel like winter. Regardless of the weather, 15 NFBC registered cyclists bundled up and showed up at Main Beach to go for a bike ride.
We were joined by Ted L for his first ride with our Amelia Island cycling group, and later Phillip put him through his paces. Dan L stopped by for a chat, and reported that he recently saw our former Statsman, Bob Stoltz, who is doing well and sent us all his regards. Kathleen stepped up to thank our newest regular, who had told her he drives down from Brunswick to ride with us because we are friendly and safety conscious. We do have a caring bike group.
Gus had fun showing off his WWII P-47 "Thunderbolt" handlebar spinner, photos attached. And at our Ft Clinch visitors center rest stop, we were happy to see Patti and Joe P who were out for a walk on what turned out to be another beautiful, spring-like Saturday.
Once again, thanks go out to Peter B for taking on today's role of ride leadership, as Don T and I cut our rides short. We all agreed that 2025 has been a challenging year, so here's to better times--and bike rides--in 2026!
