We had Eleven riders today! Who? LindaK posing with her new Lynskey Helex birthday bike. I won’t say which birthday.
PattiII said when’s my new job bike coming in? Christmas is coming I said. Have you been naughty 👿 or 😊?
Also rode, GeorgeK, PeterB, JimH, HughG, JohnG, GrearK, ToddL, TomH and ME JoeP.
Who had the best smelling saddle. What?? Yesterday I swapped saddles with a 10 year old Brooks Swift Ti saddle. It was stretched out, So I boiled the saddle ( like boiled peanuts) I inserted wrapped up plastic bags between to saddle and rails to keep the saddle from sagging. Thank God, plastic bags aren’t outlawed down here. Loosened up the tension bolt and installed this morning. Tight as new. Added fragrant Brooks conditioner to it. PattiII took scratch and sniff test and agreed. I said did you ever play a woodwind? She said Yes, an Oboe, I played a Clarinet. The smell reminded us of the grease you would apply to the cork inserts for ease of insertion when putting your instrument together.
With the huge amount of riders in a paceline. We broke into to equal groups. Six in one and Four in the other. The groups stayed together. We averaged around 20 mph going down with a North wind. We stopped at the Mayport Pavilion for a rest stop. Overall we averaged around 18 mph. We saw a few JDRF Riders checking out the area.
No flats, mechanicals, crashes to report. Note: Friday is the safest day to ride. What, last Four years one reportable accident for the entire club!
At Mocama Brain Rust to Trust. We had George, Teddy, Hugh, John, Me, Erin from Massachusetts and two others that are riding JDRF tomorrow showed up to say Hi.
Thanks for riding and reading my report ( mostly fact and some fiction)
That’s enough,
Joe P.
