So Smokey in Michigan

Hello all,

Well, my trip to Michigan has brought many surprises.  I sure you have all heard about the Canada Wildfires. I am currently in Traverse City, MI and the ride I travel here for just got cancelled, The Ride Around Torch Lake. The air quality here is in the HAZARDOUS category and is considered “Very Unhealthy”.  

It smells like a camp fire outside and the wind is not helping. BUMMER, I was so excited about this ride. So you all enjoy the hot weather and the better for air conditioning.

Hi Amy,

I know how disappointed you must be. Phillip's race in Leadville Colorado was canceled because of the fires and smoke. It was incredibly disappointing, especially given how much hard work went into getting ready for it.

"Ride around Torch Lake"?  "Leadville, CO"?  Appropriate names!  And thanks for the funny comment, Connie.  We all have to keep laughing...while we can.  We've had some smoke down here, too, from wildfires inland, on top of the Saharah dust.  Come on, Fall...but keep the tropical storms to yourself!
