Thanks again to Amy for another fun Wednesday ride on part of the Timucuan Trail, including the thrill of seeing the two nearly-fledged eaglets on their nest, being supervised nearby by one of their parents.
For those who may be interested, Friends of Talbot Islands State Parks are hosting another event at Mocama at 6:30 this evening: a presentation by an archeologist regarding the Timucua, an indigenous group who lived in this area, predating the discovery of our islands by Europeans. And what does "Mocama" mean? "Big water where the sun is born." Hope to see y'all there.
