Hi,

We had six wonderful riders today. As we pulled out of Peter’s Point we noticed the clouds looked dark and scary. We all checked our weather apps and no rain was in the forecast, just cloudy.

So off we rolled to Burney Park. More dark skies and a discussion on whether we should return to the start. We all voted to keep going, and I’m so glad we did. There was a little drizzle at the pier, but then the skies cleared up.

The trail was just beautiful today with the trees and the bushes looking so fluffy and green.

All in all a great ride.

We had 10 happy cyclists today. The weather was near perfect! Even Mike S. said he couldn't remember a nicer October on Amelia Island! Gene K joined us today; we hadn't seen him in a while - nice to see you, Gene.

As usual, we headed out from Peter's Point right at 9:00 a.m. First stop, Burney Park, where we all commented on how calm the water looked. From there, down the trail to the G. Crady Fishing Pier. Lots of fishing people were out today. On the pier past the gate, it looked like a "bird convention" Alfred Hitchcock would have been proud of the bird gathering (see picture)

Once again, I will move the Wednesday Social Trail Ride to a 10:00 a.m. start on November 5th, following the time change.

Enjoy the pictures!

Amy

Also seen on the ride today the lovely Elizabeth W. cleaning up debris along the AIP trail. Please be sure to thank Elizabeth and Ken for their efforts when you see them.  Sorry no pic.

Ten — count them —ten riders showed up this morning for a 9:00 am Social Trail Ride. As we suspected, it was a little chilly at the start of the ride, but it warmed up nicely, and there really was NO WIND today!

We rode our usual route: Peter's Point to > Burney Park  > to G. Crady Fishing Pier > G. Crady Fishing Pier back to Peter's Point.

I made a quick stop at Supercorsa for a new battery in my left shifter (yes, my shifters are eTap and need a battery). That is the only mechanical I know of, lucky me.

Next week, Bill B., will be your ride leader, as I have a doctor's appointment. The ride will start at 10 am until our springtime change in March!
