Joe's Friday Special for 7/3/2026

The Friday Special will depart tomorrow (weather permitting of course...there is a chance of rain) from SuperCorsa (sorry folks, it's always gonna be SuperCorsa to me).  Start time is 9AM.  I will look at the forecast outlook and make a decision by 7:45AM so check your emails.

Assuming we ride we'll modify the route since the road all the way to Mayport is still under construction.  We'll turn around at Ft. George Inlet and ride to Burney on return trip and then Amelia Island Parkway and left onto Fletcher back to SuperCorsa.

The Brain Trust will meet at V's at 2PM (rain or shine).

It was a hot day to ride (a 5-water bottle day for me).  Eleven riders met at Supercorsa and discussed the modified route since there is still construction ongoing at Ft. George Inlet.  Safety briefing completed and everyone took off south.  There was a brief sprinkle at the Nassau Sound bridge but it didn't seem to impact anyone.

Aside from the heat it was a fairly noneventful ride....no mechanicals or flats to report.  A couple of riders turned around before the Ft. George Inlet.  About 5or 6 took advantage of the water bottle filler at the ranger station at the entrance to Little Talbot Island State Park.  Everyone made it home OK.

Nine made it to V's for the Brain Trust.  We toasted the memory of Steve Josephs and had pizza, wings, and beer.

Another beautiful ride report, George.  Love your photos, as always...especially the photo of Donna looking good in her SuperCorsa jersey.  I sure miss Drew and Tasha...Steve J, too.
