In the immortal words of yesterday's ride leader, George K, we are in a "sweet spot" weather-wise: perfect temperatures, blue skies, not much in the way of wind. Ahhh, spring. Except we are in dire of rain, and there is none in sight. Wildfires and smoke are much worse over the line in Georgia, so we'll enjoy what we have while we can. To enjoy this nearly perfect day, 20 NFBC registered riders showed up at Main Beach to go for a bike ride.
We'll be saying goodbye to our snowbirds soon, with Kathleen and Peter leaving for Wisconsin on a jet plane, Annie and Allen driving to Maine. I hope they will send some rain our way! We're also waving bye-bye to Dan L, who is not playing the snowbird role, but is moving to Maryland to be near family...and more traffic.
Speaking of traffic, next weekend is the big Shrimp Festival, so we discussed canceling our Saturday ride because of crowds and postponing our $$$ for Doggies passing of the helmet until the following weekend. We already have generous donations ready to go to the Nassau Humane Society.
Things are looking up for us, with Ride Leader Emeritus Don E home from the hospital, and Amy K recovering from "the crud." And today's ride was a lot of fun. Stay tuned for more!
