Monday August 1, 2022 Ride Report

Our RAGBRAIteers are returning and Donna joined us for a socially distanced ride around the island.  Apparently George exposed everyone to “Cow Cooties” (see attached picture) and now everyone has to be careful.  But seriously we all thoroughly enjoyed George’s travelogue thru Iowa.  Great pictures and narrative and a vicarious pleasure.

 

Just 7 on the ride with Bill arriving at the State Park, his sea turtle duties completed.   With the onset of August we noticed the days a wee bit shorter and the heat and humidity a little less stifling. Or maybe we’re getting used to it.

Was George's cow buddy marketing for Chik-Fil-A?  We heard a long time ago that the designers of that original ad campaign used brown cows, but the marketeers said no, no, no, most people associate cows--even the edible ones--with black and white Holstein milk cows.  Cute.  Hmmmm, should we ask Patti P if that's a cow patty?

I'd better hush now, delirious from the Hotlanta heat.

George: We owe you for all that great Ragbrai reporting and "vicarious pleasure" for sure, as Mike said. 👍👍

Looking forward to hearing more Ragbrai stories in the near future, as the "crew" gets back into the local riding scene.
