My backyard thermometer shows 100 degrees outside right now, so enjoy the views--especially the cool photo provided by George K of this morning's view from the N 14th St Bridge.  Efcharistó, Giórgo!

We've all been invited to join Graham at 5:00 this afternoon at Scully's Irish Pub for a Norway vs England watch party, where we can cheer for Harry Kane and/or Erling Haaland in a match that will be fun.

II was so sad to hear about your accident .

I’m glad that it was minor.

Here I am eight months after my accident, and I still can’t get my body to function correctly, specifically my left arm and back.

I tried riding the other day. I got to the fishing pier and was in considerable amount of pain so back to the PT drawing board.

So nice to hear from you, Peter!  

PT can work miracles...to a point.  Did you hear about Don Eipert, our Ride Leader Emeritus?  He was riding his E-trike last Monday when he had one of those crazy accidents:  his foot slipped off the pedal and...bottom line...he broke his leg.  Our hero, Mike Pikula, was there with him, called 911, next day surgery at Baptist, and now Don is at the River City rehab facility for...physical therapy!

We have to do what we can, when we can.  And keep on moving.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the kind words. I did read about the "dangling foot" event.

Always forward! I am currently restricted to my Trek hybrid bike and am no longer allowed to ride fast road bikes, per my wife's orders.

Peter, just hope you continue to improve and don’t have to live with discomfort.

I was on the ride with Don Eipert when his foot exited the pedal.  Somehow, he felt little pain and has been recovering well from his surgery.

Listen to your wife.

Jim,

I always listen to my wife!

Sorry to hear about Don’s mishap. Glad to hear he is 

doing okay.

I have doing my rides sans my meds and feel okay…not

great.  Negotiated one more refill with my doc but that is

supposed to last me until October. Substituting Aleve and

Tylenol which help, but it’s not the same. Don’t see the 

kidney doctor until Oct. 8th.

Heard you had a flat tire last week. Everything alright?

Funny thing was it seemed appropriate for me as I too

live with discomfort and need to listen to my wife.
