It's "only" 96 degrees outside right now, with a seabreeze out of the SSE, another great day to go for a bike ride with friends, old and new. We had 13 NFBC registered riders show up at Main Beach this morning, plus more, including Sallie's friend, Peter, riding a vintage Schwinn Voyageur. Too bad Gus wasn't there so we could learn more about Peter's mighty steed.
We also welcomed Joe B down from Brunswick, with a goal of recruiting NFBC to partner up for the "Pedal the Golden Isles" bike ride, scheduled for October 17. Check it out:
https://findarace.com/us/events/pedal-golden-isles. Mike S suggested Joe get in touch with Amy and/or the NFBC Prez via our website.
Let's all send best wishes to our Ride Leader Emeritus Don E for a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Jim H is subbing for Don for next Monday's ride around Yuleeland, and he announced that the route will be back on Amelia Island, for now, per our alternating Monday rides. Jim said those of us who want to ride with the group this coming Monday morning should show up at the Fernandina Beach Waterfront Park for a 9:00am departure.
Thanks again to Mike L for co-ride leading today, and for later reporting no mishaps or mayhem. We are so lucky to have such a fun-loving group of cyclists to ride with! See y'all again next time.
