24 members registered and rode despite the light fog. A couple of members were also seen out riding - Sally M and Dr. Ken. It got warmer and warmer as we rode and several people shed their jackets. I got to meet several new members for the first time after getting off the injured reserve list and doing grandpa duties over the holidays. John “Top Gun” was a welcome sight this morning as we haven’t seen him out biking in a while. No mechanicals or flats to report.

Hello AI Cyclists,

Tomorrow’s ride promises to be pretty good with a starting temperature of 63 degrees, light winds out of the south, and fog for the first hour or so.

Hope to see you at SuperCorsa for the 9am start.

Hello All,

We had 10 riders partake in today’s Friday Special.  Although it began as a slightly foggy ride, it wasn’t long before the sun shone through the clouds and we enjoyed another gorgeous day.

We did have one reported flat tire, but otherwise the ride was smooth and uneventful — thanks to those who participated for the care they exercised.  No mechanicals or falls!

Finally, I forgot twice to snap a photo — on our departure from SuperCorsa, I claimed I would take a photo at the Ferry Pavillion, but by the time we arrived, I’d forgotten.

Ride safely,

-JIM

Hello Fellow Cyclists,

According to my weather App, it is predicted to be much colder for tomorrow’s Monday Downtown FB ride.  I am delaying the start to 10am when the temperature should be around 51 degrees with a 15 mph wind out of the north.  The temp during the ride will rise by only a few degrees and the wind will be about the same, so dress accordingly.

I do hope these conditions won’t dissuade you from riding.  The good news is that we should have sunshine during the ride.

Thanks,

-JIM

Hello All,

As promised, it was a cold and windy day for our Monday Downtown FB ride.  There were 7 of us who began the ride.  Temps remained in the low 50s (which was tolerable), but the winds out of the NNE at 17+ mph and cloudy skies made the ride less than paradise-like.

A few noteworthy happenings: David B showed up for the first time since last May; sold his condo and will be leaving in February.  Hello and Goodbye to David and Bettie!  Along the route, we did see Mike S and Lee R (who’s back in town).  We had 2 new riders who have been riding with the St. Augustine NFBC group — Welcome and I apologize for allowing you to be lost on today’s route.  I hope it doesn’t dissuade you from riding with us in the future.

The good news to report — no flats, mechanicals, or falls (or photos).  Therefore, it was yet another successful ride on the Island.

-JIM
