Riders gathered at the marina with mud flats below the docks indicating low tide. John pointed out that I called Citrona, Corona when describing the route The train whistle blow right after we started riding, so we used the new extension of Alachua to cross the tracks. At the Burney rest stop Cheryl suggested, not sure if it was because of my slip up calling the street Corona, that we start going to Salty Pelican starting the next ride in two weeks. Let’s plan on it.
For the Quiz, "How does 17R MP 554 932 relate to our ride?”, the correct answer came from Cheryl. It the starting area of our ride as described by the USNG (United States National Grid) system which was lifted from the military. It is used by search and rescue for grid searches and by wildfire fighters. It describes an area as opposed to GPS coordinates which define a point. … Rich
