AI Main Beach Ride 11/13/25

Well today’s ride didn’t start too well and then went downhill. I couldn’t get on my bike because of hip pain. Then Peter P collided with a parked vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Jacksonville. His wife told me he fractured two neck vertebrae and fractured some ribs. He may need surgery for his neck or wear a brace. I’m sure all of our good thoughts are with him and his wife.
Twenty members showed and rode today. It warmed up quite a bit. Patty R agreed to be the assistant ride leader. She was obviously in a good mood showing off a fast new BMC bike that she was testing out. I want to thank Kathleen F and the other club riders who stopped to help Peter P. I will need a sub ride leader for the next two Thursdays while visiting the twins.

Update from the hallway of the hospital. I’ve now completed CT, MRI, and all the other test. I’m hoping that I can be seen by a doctor now.

I’m gonna turn my phone off so I don’t lose my battery. I’ll check back in tomorrow morning.
