Another nice day to go for a bike ride around the island. Unfortunately, my evil wrist misery still lingers, so thanks go out to Peter B for actually leading yesterday's ride.
As usual, there was a lot going on, besides 14 registered NFBC cyclists (plus a few more) showing up at Main Beach yesterday morning, starting with the "Fall Festival" at Main Beach, hosted by Markets by Mariah (whatever that is), featuring vendors, food trucks, and other for-profit activities. At the Ft Clinch rest stop, there were tents set up for the "Dirt Circus," another for-profit activity including runners on the Ft Clinch trails. Read all about it here:
https://ultrasignup.com/. And we all noticed signs on Atlantic for the 5K "Veterans Run," actually held by the Cross the Line Foundation.
https://www.crossthelinefoundation.com/run-for-veterans-2025/. There was more, including the Taste of Amelia downtown, none interfering with our bike ride.
Having heard no reports by Peter B of any mishaps or mayhem, I assume good times were had by all. Stay warm next week, y'all!
