Wow, not even sure where to start. I am sure most of you have heard we had another serious accident today. Actually, Carol just sent out the info about Patty Riley.

My job is to do the normal ride report. We had 17 riders today with one visitor, Eric Carr. After the safety briefing we all headed out.

I actually rode the New 30-mile route for this year's ESRW. I had just started down S. Fletcher when I saw fire trucks, police cars, and an ambulance. My first thought was I hope another child did not drown and then I saw Carol and Skeeter. NO, not another rider down. As Carol said, please send Patty R healing thoughts and watch out for distract drivers.

What are we going to do?

IMHO, S Fletcher is too dangerous for everybody: tourists, beachgoers, all of us.  As cyclists, please avoid that route, whenever possible. Next, let’s all approach law enforcement to PLEASE enforce the speed limits, and remind visitors that this is a REAL state road, not just a day at the beach.

Yes, I am mad and scared.

Thanks, y’all.
