Looks like it will be in the high 60s tomorrow with a slight chance of rain for tomorrow’s ride. The wind will be slower too. The route for the ride on the NFBC website was updated to include the Crane Island detour but it starts and stops at my house instead of Main Beach. A detour for the closed portion of Amelia Island Parkway is Simmons Rd so it will probably have plenty of vehicular traffic. It may be wise to ride down the adjacent greenway. See you tomorrow at Main Beach at 9:00 am.

In case there is any doubt as to whether Amelia Island Pkwy is closed, check the photo.

HA!  Traffic yesterday, going to and from Harris Teeter (GRRRR...), was backed up on Fletcher all the way between the Parkway intersection and Sadler.  And a fender bender heading south on Fletcher between Harris Teeter and the Parkway.

Beware!

20 members showed and rode as well as two guests from Traverse City, Sandy and Steve. Mike S was also spotted several times along the route. He pointed out a long stretch of broken glass in the bike lane from the Bailey Rd traffic circle towards the airport on Amelia Island Pkwy. It was a little foggy and parts of the road were moist at the start but sunny by the end of the ride. No flats or mechanicals to report. Just our little Jack Jack telling his twinny that he didn’t think it was a very good idea to play with the electric recliner. (And put a hole in the wall).

PS- Somehow between my last iPad software update and Dr J mysteriously teaching me how to NOT attach photos telepathically, I can’t attach photos to this email. Trust me -y’all looked great out there.
