Amelia Island Main Beach Ride Report, Part I, February 7, 2026

This ride leading thing can be actual work--for those few ride leaders among us who are basically lazy.  Such as yours truly, who was too cold and lazy to ride today's whole ride, on an otherwise beautiful day on Amelia Island.  

Fortunately for all of us, one of our favorite bike buddies, George K, stepped up and provided some great photos to illustrate one of our favorite places to ride, up and over the N 14th St Bridge, being overseen by one of our favorite mascots--making sure we were safe from, oh, a bald eagle or a Bubba truck.  Hmmm, another "word" for osprey is "Seahawk"...an omen for tomorrow's Super Bowl?  I wonder....

Thanks again to all who came out to ride with us today.  And thanks to George for documenting today's ride, and to Peter B and Amy K for leading cyclists home safely.

Go Seahawks since the Chiefs didn’t make the playoffs and it is really not the end of the Chiefs dynasty.
