Another beautiful day to go for a bike ride, to gather and celebrate the return of Right Whales to our waters--and to cheer the Dawgs at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, the GA/FL game in Jacksonville.  Because of this conflict of interest (and a still ailing wrist), I didn't actually ride yesterday, though I did show up to cheer on 14 NFBC registered cyclists, and to pass the helmet for a generous pile of $87.00 $$$ for Doggies.

FYI, since we started our little fundraiser in October of 2016, we have donated a grand total of $12,526.00 to the Nassau Humane Society, our way of thanking them for their rest-stop hospitality and for all they do for lucky dogs.  Thanks again to all who have participated over the years.

Thanks also go out to Peter B for stepping up to lead yesterday's ride.  Welcome south to all our "snowbirds"!

Good Evening Fellow Cyclists,

This is Jim, your ride leader for tomorrow’s ride around Amelia Island, starting at the parking lot at the Downtown Marina at 9am.  The weather is predicted to be around 60 degrees at the 9am start with plenty of sunshine.

Hope to see you there,

Hello Riders,

We had 10 folks start our Monday Ride today.  It was a gorgeous day, sunny with a temp of 60 degrees and a notable north wind.  The day warmed and it was truly a stellar day to be riding.  We had no mishaps, flats, falls, or mechanicals so the ride was a success.

I snapped a couple of photos to prevent the pushback that I might otherwise receive, but the aesthetics leave something to be desired.  You can determine whether or not folks were posing for these shots.

Hello Fellow Cyclists,

Tomorrow’s Downtown Marina ride will begin at 9am (as usual) with temps in the mid-60s at the start.  Should be another ideal day for a ride — please ride with care and caution and remain vigilant throughout the ride.

See you there,

-JIM

Hello Fellow Cyclists,

Hooray!  We had an accident-free ride today with no flats, mechanicals, or falls — well done group!  We had 12 riders today and, as has been the case, it was another perfect day for a ride on the Island with temps in the upper 60s and winds from the north around 7-8 mph with plenty of sunshine.

I’ve attached 3 photos, one for each place that we gathered.  If they don’t all make it (due to size of the email), you can imagine what it would have looked like. Just bounced back, so I’m omitting the Burney Park photo — sorry!

Please be safe as you ride!

-JIM
