With no chance of rain and mild temperatures predicted we had 17 registered riders. The snow birds brought good weather with them! We a good safety briefing to watch for that debris and call it out. Drew from Super Corsa joined us and asked what we thought of the rumble strips in the new paving by Fort George Bridge. In general it is not popular but it might keep cars out of the bike lane. Be aware - it can throw you off track!
We got started on time and off went the fast folks. After getting warmed up it did feel good. George stopped to check on a Gopher Tortoise but it had crossed over the tortoise rainbow bridge. Got to the ferry pavilion and the groups was getting ready to head north. A short break and then into the wind. Except for Bill B and Mike S. They crossed over the river and hand lunch. Hope we have more good days to do the same. No flats no mechanicals to report.
Amy reminded us that the Len Burroughs "Memorial" Beaches ride will be this Saturday 11/8 9:00am. Len was a long time NFBC Member who contributed much to the club. Details are in the events calendar on the NFBC site.
I will be leading next Tuesday 11/11
