Dr. Huey,
Did I hear you mention in today's meeting that there are conditions in which OpenCL will ignore the GPU and just run a kernel on the CPU despite instructions otherwise? What might cause that to happen and how could I tell? I am starting to think that might be a likely explanation for some of the weird stuff I have seen while working on this today.

During the meeting with Peter on Tuesday John Femiani dropped in and he indicated this might be an issue. He couldn't describe the condition(s), but suggested Peter talk with Russ Morningstar(???) in 206 about it. He might have been talking about something as simple as accidentally leaving off the instructions to do otherwise, but it seemed as if there may be more involved.
