My name is Lars Finanger and I am the Race Director for an event taking place in the Boston Harbor Islands this Saturday, July 13th called
SwimRun Boston Harbor Islands.
We have the support and assistance of the US Coast Guard and Boston Police to provide our swimmers with safe passages as they swim between islands.
However, I am reaching out because we are seeking
volunteer boats for several water based locations along the race course to keep an eye on our athletes while swimming. Powered craft (aux, sail, jetski OK) and kayaks are the most suitable vessels being sought. Must have required safety gear aboard.
With the start taking place on Peddocks Island, Hull would be the ideal place to paddle out from.
Assignments by region are for approximately 3 hours:
6-9am between Peddocks - Georges, Georges - Lovells
7-10am between Lovells - Long
9am-12pm between Long-Spectacle
Volunteers will receive a special edition race t-shirt and access to our post-race finish line food and drink taking place on Spectacle Island.
