Please join us for a fascinating evening as AMC member and National Park Service volunteer, Ron Janowitz, discusses his experience volunteering at the Natural Bridges National Monument in Southern Utah.
Ron spent last fall working at this spectacular park for three months, and will share breathtaking photography and fascinating stories from his experience behind the scenes. Topics include how to get “hired” as a volunteer, as well as the duties and living arrangements of volunteers, the history, geology and archeology of this remote and unique area.
Natural Bridges is remote and famous for its three massive bridges at the bottoms of steep canyons and remote Ancestral Puebloan ruins, occupied between 2000 and 750 years ago. The park is off the grid, and relies on solar panels for electricity. There are more mule deer and jackrabbits than people in San Juan County.
