AMC pays homage to Dr. Laxmi Sharan

 

Dr. Laxmi Sharan, Senior Dermatologist from Mumbai passed away on Nov 17, 2010, following a prolonged illness, at Powai. He was 81.

Born on Jan 4, 1929, in Jhansi, Dr. Sharan, a 1954-passout from King George Medical College, Lucknow, did his undergraduate studies at Allahabad University and schooling from his birth town.

After serving in the far-flung interiors of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as a medical officer, Dr. Sharan, did his post-graduation in Dermatology and Venereal diseases from K.E.M College, Mumbai.

In his over half-a-century of consulting practice, in Mumbai, Dr. Sharan, did not bow down to corporatization of medical practice, and instead unobtrusively devoted himself to the treatment of toiling working class patients.
