NORDIC SKIING AT BRETTON WOODS - Friday, Jan 31

Join us for Nordic skiing at New Hampshire's Bretton Woods resort, with Mt. Washington and the northern presidential mountains as a backdrop. Bretton Woods has 101 KM of trails, 57 trails track set for classic skiing. This trip is best suited to intermediate skiers who are comfortable on hills. We'll plan a half day of 3-4 hours, 4-5 miles of skiing, depending on the group and conditions. We'll keep a steady pace with a few stops, returning to the lodge for lunch (bring your own). We'll return to the trails again after lunch depending on interest. Rental equipment is available at the Nordic center. Trail passes are $25 adult / $13 senior. Please allow an extra 10-15 minutes to purchase your pass before our 9:00 meeting time.

BRANDON GAP - Saturday, Feb 1

A great down mountain backcountry zone created by R.A.S.T.A. in central VT. Multiple options to choose from, each with 800 to 1,000 vertical feet. Terrain is steep in spots, and the snow is usually variable. Participants should be strong skiers and prepared to spend a full day in the woods. CLINIC ON GLADE AND MOGUL SKIING AT BRETTON WOODS - Saturday, Feb 1

Ski Bretton Woods NH.  We will take the lift and access the Glade areas. This is a clinic to help ski trees and moguls in a safe and controlled manner. Ted Stever is coaching this program. He has 42 years of coaching skiers of all ages and skills. Bretton Woods has many glades from easy to hard. We will explore glades appropriate for the group.

AMC LEADERS DO CITIZEN SCIENCE: HOW TO MEASURE SNOW - Saturday, Feb 1
Join Sarah Sallade, an AMC NH Chapter ski leader and Community Snow Observations ambassador, as well as Georgia Murray from the AMC research team to learn how our New Hampshire winters are changing. They will address how we can contribute to a greater understanding of snowpack depth and changes across the Northeast Region throughout the winter. Plus, they will share research by AMC and UNH climate scientists and demonstrate how easy it is to measure snowpack depth and upload the data. And they will also share where to find the snow depth maps that may be helpful as you plan your next winter adventure.

AMITY POND - LIGHT BACKCOUNTRY FAMILY-FRIENDLY SKI - Saturday, Feb 8

Join us for this light backcountry ski adventure at the Amity Pond Natural Area. This trip will be a good opportunity to ski with some other families and enjoy some time outside on skis. Participants should have experience skiing on ungroomed terrain. For kids that are not able to ski yet on their own, we recommend towing a pulk sled.  This trip is open to families with kids of all ages, or anyone that is willing to go at a slow pace with frequent stops.

GREENS WOODLANDS - FAMILY XC SKIING - Monday, Feb 17

Families, join us for a day of cross-country skiing at the Green Woodlands! This is a spectacular region to ski, equipped with warming huts and enjoyable, well-maintained terrain for all abilities. Ski distance and duration will be determined based on group composition. Expect snacks and warm drink breaks. Looking forward to seeing you out there! This trip is FREE and open to EVERYONE (non-AMC members and members). We are volunteer ski leaders with a mission to help everyone get out on skis and enjoy our New England winters..

MAPLE VILLA GLADE SKI TRIP - Saturday, Feb 22

Come ski Maple Villa with us, a classic CCC glade that has been revived by Granite Backcountry Alliance. Skin and ski AT; Telemark; Splitboard all welcome. AT gear or telemark, skins required. Pack for layering to control your temp. This is a great Glade and worth the adventure. parking can be crowded, there is an overflow parking area, we can carpool from there. TUCKERBROOK SKI TRAIL: A CLASSIC SKI ADVENTURE - Sunday, Feb 23

Come ski the classic Tuckerbrook ski trail off the top of Cannon Mountain. This is an old ski trail that starts at the top of Mittersill / Cannon ski resort. We will use the Tram (exit 34B off I93) to access the top of the mountain.  We will ski over to the top of Mittersill to access the Tuckerbrook trail. This trail is about 3 miles long and 3000 vertical ft down. AT or Telmark gear recommended, Snowboards welcome but  there will be a short boot pack. Cost will be between 25 and 40 (ticket for tram) Skins will make boot pack easier but not necessary.  Call Ted 860-428-7103 for any questions

BLACK AND WHITE GBA GLADES - Sunday, Feb 23

Come ski the gem of GBA's Black and White zones! It boasts an amazing diversity of beautiful and bountiful glades, summit ridge line views and even some summit cone skiing! We plan to ski up from the southern side of White Cap, up to the summit and either ski off the north or south slopes (or both!), pending weather and conditions. Because this is a longer tour, interested skiers should have a higher level of fitness, experience in backcountry terrain in the winter for extended periods and the ability to ski advanced terrain. BOLTON VALLEY BACKCOUNTRY SKI - Saturday, Mar 8

Join us for a trip into the Bolton Valley backcountry to search for deep powder. We'll start at the Bolton Valley Nordic Center and skin the top of the Cotton Brook area for multiple laps of the natural bitch glades. This is an advanced tour that requires a high level of physical fitness, ability to ski steep terrain and tight trees. Alpine Touring, Splitboard and Telemark riders are all welcome. This is a volunteer led trip and no fees or AMC membership is required. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own Nordic, Backcountry & Uphill pass (aka NBU) for use of the area ($25).

OAKES GULF - PRESIES SKIING - Saturday, April 12

Join us for a trip to the highly remote and beautiful Oakes Gulf. Off the shoulder of Mt Washington, it is nestled between Monroe and Boott Spur. Route is subject to weather, but we anticipate skinning up the Ammonoosuc aspect of Mt Washington to the lake of the clouds hut. From there, explore Oakes Gulf which has a variety of terrain from moderate to expert lines. Return via the Monroe brook trail which includes gullies and tight trees. This is an expert tour that requires a high level of physical fitness, ability to ski very steep terrain and tight trees. Alpine Touring, Splitboard and Telemark riders are all welcome
