Good afternoon,

The Know Before You Owe mortgage disclosure rule took effect Oct. 3rd. Shopping for the best mortgage for your family and understanding your mortgage loan features is now easier than ever.

Learn more about how these changes to the mortgage process are a step in the right direction:
consumerfinance.gov/blog/know-before-you-owe-new-mortgage-disclosures-new-rule

The process of understanding and comparing loan offers and terms when choosing a mortgage is now improved with our Loan Estimate. Our new rule provides you with time to review your terms before you sign, and our Closing Disclosure makes understanding your mortgage terms and features straightforward.

Thank you,

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
