Hi everyone -

I only have my phone and I’m having trouble doing an effective google scholar search!

Quick question: in attitudes research, there’s a lot of stuff on relationships between potential/objective ambivalence and how certain people are WRT their overall (ie bipolar) attitude. But has anyone ever measured certainty WRT to positivity and negativity separately?

Something like this:

1. Ignoring how positively you feel about X, how negatively do you feel about X?

2. How certain are you about how negatively you feel about X?

(Followed by Same pair of questions for positivity)

Ring any bells?

- Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Attached please find a SPPS paper in which we investigated the role that certainty in each side of an objective ambivalent attitude plays in producing subjective ambivalence.

Best, Pablo
