Friederike Eyssel and I just published a paper in Plos One concerning ambivalence towards robots. It's called "Let’s not be indifferent about robots: Neutral ratings on bipolar measures mask ambivalence in attitudes towards robots" (free access here: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0244697).
Summary: Attitudes towards robots might seem neutral on
bipolar measures but are actually ambivalent and evoke higher
arousal than neutral stimuli.
Next, we will extend these findings via mouse tracking and look into ambivalence-reduction strategies to improve robot acceptance.
Comments are always welcome!
