Summer Symposium: Revisiting the role of demand characteristics in social science research

Description

Concerns about demand characteristics are ubiquitous in social science research. Yet, fundamental questions persist regarding (1) the purported impact of demand characteristics on participants’ responses, (2) the theorized underlying mechanism(s), and (3) how a variety of intervention may impact participants’ behavior in social science research. In this virtual webinar, Oriana Aragón, Jonathan Mummolo, and Nicholas Coles will present research that provides different perspectives on these outstanding issues.

This webinar is coordinated by members of Psychological Science Accelerator: a globally-distributed network of laboratories that pool intellectual and material resources to accelerate the accumulation and reliable and generalizability knowledge in psychological science.
