Hi everyone,

Is there any dental benefit or special buspass for kids with autism ? Who can tell me what benefit we can have for our kids?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Lucy, Sorry I have not been reading the messages for a long time.

First the dental benefits are available for low-income families (same
criteria as MSP) The maximum benefit is about $700 a year. When you
go to they dentist, they will find out if the child is eligible, based
on your health care card.

The second part is, people with disability will have to pay for
transit like veyone else (based on their age and zone etc.) However,
Translink will allow the person who assists the person with disabilty
to ride with that person free. (I I am not sure if the attendant
includes family members). The attendant can apply from translink to
get a pass so that they can ride free with the person they are
assisting.

Also, Via Rail and air canada has a program that works similar ways
but at discounts.

For other useful benefits and resources, see this pdf at Centre for
Abilities:
