System Administrator :-  3-8yrs experience

Role & Responsibilities

Ø       Overall HW & operating system# installation/Management
excluding the application components & related activities##

Ø       Helping the application teams on,

o        HW/OS/Network pre-requisites ### for application installation

o        Guidance on HW/OS/Network side for application integration

o        Help validating the server sizing or list of HW BOM with
required inputs on HW/OS/Network side

o        Helping with server performance with required/possible
OS/Network statistics

o        Helping devising solutions during SI phase from a
HW/OS/Network perspective, for example, server connectivity etc

Ø       Helping the overall program management teams from
infrastructure perspective on,

o        Effort estimates for the activities

o        Thorough documentation of activities done under infrastructure like

§         Installation

§         Configuration

§         Help in creating Overall network diagram

§         Help in creating Infrastructure technical architecture document

o        Understanding entire solution architecture from
infrastructure perspective

o        Helping the respective vendors/customer from a consulting
(requirement specification perspective) on HW side for following,

§         Contribute in overall SAN design & recommended redundancy on
the storage level
§         Contribute in HW Clustering & HA architecture
§         Contribute in Backup Strategy – OS level, FS level and tape
rotation etc
§         Help in VLAN set-up
§         Help in DR Implementation Strategy, wherever required
§         Help in overall Infrastructure Monitoring tools
§         Help in HW & OS System Acceptance criteria including TEST
cases for infrastrcture
§         Help in Creation of TEST cases for UAT when handing over to
respective parties internal/external


#Infrastructure: Server HW, Server Operating Systems, Server Clusters,
Server network, Storage Area Network, Oracle RDBMS.

##Application Components: Application Servers, Web Servers,
Application (PL/SQL) code

##Application related activities: Application Server installation &
configuration, Web Server installation & configuration, Application
(PL/SQL) code writing & execution, Data-Modeling, Application
deployment, debugging application issues, application or application
component monitoring

###Infrastructure pre-requisites: Operating System patches/packages,
file-systems, user accounts, kernel settings, Operating system network
set-up, Overall DC network set-up, DB schema creation, Physical DB
sizing, running object creation scripts provided with documentation,
Oracle RDBMS S/W installation with specified components
