Election Commission of India and its way of working....

Yesterday, I went to collect my voters ID cards in one of the regional offices of PMC.  To my surprise, for the past one week the employees responsible for the same were avoiding to take my calls and entertain me saying that they have a huge crowd over the window.  The more interesting part is that two weeks back one of the PMC employees was available in our society with some list and some cards in which none of the cards were correct in terms of the name , address and date of birth of the voter.  When I enquired about my card he did not have any clue on that and referred me to the regional office.  Then my follow-up started with the regional office wherein not a single person was able to answer my question and give me perfect status of whether or not I will get a card.  It was 6.30 pm on Friday when I reached office and asked about the cards the person said it would only come after elections and its very hard to get the card now.  My curiosity did not allow me to stop then and there and again on Saturday, I went to the regional office wherein I have been told that I would get my card on Sunday (I must appreciate that Sunday the staff was working.....).  Yesterday, i.e. on October 11, 2009 I got my cards after lot of follow-up. Ofcourse, it was not a big surprise for me that my address was written as Mayur Nagari, whereas my address is Pashchimanagari, no building number, flat number etc. Moreover, in the date of birth column, the columns of date and month were marked XX / XX and in the year column the values were totally wrong for both me and my wife.  In our queue another boy was arguing for his card because he is just 22 yrs old and the voter ID card made him 40 yrs old.....

 

..............and people here say you must have the VOTER ID CARD its a very important document..... I DON'T BELIEVE THIS.

That's how a youngster can get a benefits of Senior citizen in our Country.

Just wait till Nandan Sir finishes with unique identification card project, hopefully it will not mix up your Bio information with other citizen of INDIA.

Dear All,

Few day back i saw Nandan Nilekani interview on some TV channel.
He said, he and fellow mate  collect information from all available source
like ' RSBY-(BPL family)' , 'PAN', 'VOTER CARD' , 'PASSPORT' etc.

From this he defiantly get more meaning full information.

Biggest worry is IMPLEMENTATION

" Can any one suggest me, How i vote from pune"
1 day leave is not enough.
