Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora (MSS), is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1949 by the internationally renowned social worker and human rights activist Baba Amte. MSS has been relentlessly working towards the betterment of stigmatized and marginalized people with disabilities such as those afflicted with Leprosy, Hearing and Speech Impaired, Visually and Orthopedically Challenged and Socially Backward Tribal Populace. MSS has been running a plethora of activities for human development in Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Yavatmal, the most backward districts of eastern Maharashtra. Through its integrated approach that combines medical treatment with sustained psycho-socio-economic rehabilitation, MSS has qualitatively enhanced the living standards of over 2.3 Million disadvantaged people till now. The work of MSS has been recognized and honoured on national and international platforms by distinguished institutions like Government of India, United Nations and Ramon Magsaysay Foundation.
As MSS steps into its 62nd year of development work, MSS plans to creating a corpus fund in the form of a social capital called ‘ Samaj Pragati Sahayog Nidhi’ of Rs. 55 crores. The interest received on the same will be utilised for increasing its beneficiary base by scaling up current development programs to a wider geographical area and also for taking care of its working capital needs. We will be taking you on a ‘Logical Tour’ for 10 days across our four projects as an induction cum training program.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Creative Content Development : Inputs to the Promotional Collateral developed by Dr. Sheetal Amte
2. Fund Raising : Target would be to collect INR 15 lakhs per month via engagement with various agencies such as
a. Charitable Organizations
b. Corporate Social Responsibility Divisions of large companies.
c. High Net Worth Individuals
d. Creatively pooling of funds by individuals (e.g. Rs. 10,000 donation by 50 members of a CHS, Rotary Clubs, Giants, Lions Clubs)
3. Create meeting schedules for Dr. Sheetal Amte or Kaustubh Amte when they visit your city and accompany them for these meetings.
4. Creating awareness through media : Target would be to have one article or feature in any newspaper or magazine per month, creating promotional content on social networks like facebook, twitter and other international platforms like leprosy mailing lists.
5. Creating, maintaining and updating a blog for MSS.
MSS would be interested in associating with individuals who have the leadership qualities in approaching and networking effortlessly at the right places and creating awareness about our organization.
