After the conference we discussed teaching math the to disabled. The Coordinator of Special Services recently sent me this pdf in response to that early query.

MB, remembering that you are building up Math resources, this is an oldie but goodie. It was published by the Lawrence National Laboratory in Livermore, CA in 1983 and gives the pronunciation and term for math symbols and then gives examples of equations etc.
