[Bug 1756461] [NEW] Breeze theme makes menus in menubar unselectable in several applications

Public bug reported:

In Kubuntu 16.04 I cannot access the menus in the menu bar in several applications if the Breeze theme is selected. If I click on any menu, the menu is highlighted but no submenus/menu items appear.

Affected applications:
dolphin4, kile, Amarok, okular, speedcrunch, digikam, soundkonverter,

Other applications menus of the menubar work well:
dolphin, kate, synaptic, libreoffice writer, konsole, gimp, audacity, tuxhuitar


If the oxygen theme is selected the problem does not exist anymore.

Do you need any logs?

Hello again,

What kind of specs or information do you might need additionally?
I use a Tuxedo BX1505 with an Intel grafics card.
Some ppa's are included (see attachment) which should not affect the usabilitiy according to the tuxedo support team. They couldn't help me with this problem.
