[Bug 1333250] [NEW] Amarok wont play full-length audio cd mp3's

Ran into this bug.. not major but felt worth reporting.
Amarok player works very well so far, just one minor problem I have found is that full-length audio cd .ape files wont play.
By full-length audio cd .ape files I mean where a whole cd is ripped to a single file, rather than seperate tracks. .ape file format
File starts playing, then skips once at 2-5 seconds, then repeats over and over.
Could be a bug with full-length cd files, or could be a bug with .ape format.. unfortunately I only have the one album which is either lol so sorry but cant test further just now!

Same file pays fine in VLC player

@laurence, since VLC can play the file fine, I would try switching
Phonon to the VLC backend (make sure you install phonon-backend-vlc
package). If it plays the .ape correctly, the issue is probably specific
to gstreamer. In fact, it would probably be this bug:

Already switched to VLC backend... was one of the first things I did when I installed the OS.
I am just now installing Mint 17 so will report back if it is fixed in the new version :)

Unless Mint is using something customized, both Mint 16 and 17 (based on
13.10 and 14.04, respectively) are using 2.8.0-ubuntu3

Hi :)
Just to update,
I have now upgraded to Mint 17, and all files are now playing fine for me. Seems it could just affect Mint 16?
@ Myriam, I am using the standard pre-installed version of amarok that comes with Mint in both cases.

The user did not mention a .cue sheet, so I'm not sure that's the same bug...
Either way, the user claims bug is fixed in Trusty/Mint 17, so closing bug.

Just for completeness sake: yes, it is definitely the same issue, as
*.ape files use a cue sheet to be played. Without that cue sheet
playback can fail after the first track
