Dear Sir/Ma’am,
Warm greetings from Child in Need Institute (CINI) !!
Child in Need Institute (CINI), established in 1974, is one of India’s pioneering community development organisations working for the well-being and rights of children, adolescents, youth, and women from socio-economically marginalised backgrounds. CINI’s work spans across multiple states in India, touching the lives of thousands of families in urban slums, rural blocks, and tea-garden areas. Guided by the Child Friendly Community (CFC) and Human Rights-Based Approach, CINI strengthens community systems and facilitates convergence between families, frontline service providers, and government welfare mechanisms. Our interventions are integrated across Health & Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, and Gender Equity, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based planning, child safeguarding, and participatory development. Over the last five decades, CINI has collaborated closely with the Government of India, State Governments, and various international and national development partners. Our strategic focus lies in capacity-building, community mobilisation, research, and policy advocacy to address structural inequities and ensure equitable wellbeing for all.
To deepen our gender-inclusive community development approach, CINI is currently implementing the G-SAFE+ Project across vulnerable urban settlements in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and Ranchi. G-SAFE+ is a transformative programme designed to build safe, inclusive, and gender-equitable neighbourhoods, particularly supportive of women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ individuals, who often face layered discrimination in low-income urban contexts. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-5) - Gender Equality, G-SAFE+ aims to reduce gender-based vulnerabilities and redefine community norms and create sustainable, empowered, and inclusive social environments.
In continuation of our gender-transformative journey, we are keen to join the AMAN Network, recognising the power of collective action, shared learning, and solidarity in building a more gender-just society. We believe that CINI’s grassroots experience, institutional partnerships, and research capacities will meaningfully contribute to the initiatives and vision of the network.
We look forward to your kind consideration and a collaborative journey ahead.
Thanking you,
Dilip Bose
