Dear Members,

The Sannihita team wanted to make a presentation during our meeting in Hyderabad last month, but we couldn't accommodate their request due to time constraints. She has now asked us to review the handbook prepared by her team. If any member of the network is interested, she would be happy to organise an online session with them to discuss the handbook further. Please write to her directly if anybody is interested.

Thanks

Seema

Dear Ma’am,

I hope this message finds you well.

On behalf of Girl Up Apara and Sannihita, we are writing to introduce our recent initiative aimed at empowering women and supporting survivors of abuse through both a comprehensive handbook and a digital app. Together, these resources are designed to raise awareness, provide practical tools, and make support systems more accessible to women across India.

About the Handbook

The handbook consolidates critical information in one accessible resource, including:

  • Survivor stories and lived experiences

  • Self-defense tutorials

  • Practical support resources

  • Insights into economic independence

  • Legal rights and analysis of key laws impacting women

  • The role of NGOs and community organizations

  • Clear guidance on identifying abuse and seeking legal help

Our distribution strategy begins in Hyderabad with the long-term vision of extending to other states, particularly rural areas where women often lack access to such vital information. To strengthen its relevance, we would also like to include interested organizations as listed resources and helplines within the handbook.

About the App

Complementing the handbook, we have developed a digital app that provides:

  • Easy access to emergency helplines and support services

  • Step-by-step guidance on identifying and responding to abuse

  • Resource directories linking users to verified NGOs and legal aid

  • Interactive tutorials on self-defense and safety measures

  • Multilingual support, making it accessible to a wider demographic

The app aims to bridge the gap between information and action by placing resources directly at the fingertips of women and survivors, ensuring real-time accessibility and immediate assistance when needed.

Our Request

We are seeking the support of the Aman network in two ways:

  1. Distribution – Helping circulate both the handbook and app to ensure they reach women and survivors, especially in rural and underserved communities.

  2. Partnership – Providing insights on our resources and, if interested, being featured within the handbook and app as part of the network of organizations that women can directly reach out to for assistance.

We have attached both the Handbook and a tutorial of the app for your review. Should your organization be interested in supporting or partnering with us, please feel free to contact us directly:

The guidance and support of the Aman network would be invaluable in helping us place these resources in the hands of women who need them most, empowering them in their journey toward safety, independence, and a better life.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Warm regards,
Girl Up Apara
