Dear members,
Hope you all are doing well
This message is in reference to the email sent to network members by Cehat on October 17, 2025, on behalf of the Aman research thematic team. The email addresses our discussions during the meeting in Hyderabad, where we held an in-depth conversation about the case work intake form. We also initiated a discussion about conducting a short research study to mark the 20 years of the implementation of the PWDVA. Additionally, we also shared the challenges we face while providing support to the survivors of domestic violence. The email shared by Cehat team entails three google sheets to fill in your response.
I am requesting members to please share your thoughts and suggestions on the Google Sheets attached by 30th November. Your timely response will help the Aman research thematic team to plan the next steps for action.
Regards,
Seema
We are very glad to have been part of a fruitful and engaging AMAN meeting in Hyderabad. It was wonderful to connect and exchange insights with all of you.
This email includes two key agenda points for your kind attention and response:
We are pleased to share a set of minimum basic variables and a glossary of some important terms, compiled based on the best practices and intake forms of member organisations. These variables aim to capture contextual and nuanced information related to GBV, risks of perpetration and survivor's experiences with the response system.
We are sharing this as a working document and invite your suggestions and comments. It is a live document and you can share your comments on it. The purpose is to help us record uniform data on GBV and generate evidence at a national level under the AMAN banner.

Please note:
Please share your feedback by 31 October 2025
We also invite member organisations to confirm their participation in the evidence-building initiative on the implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA).
We understand that each organisation engages deeply with different stakeholders under the Act — such as Protection Officers, Police, Shelters, Lawyers/Judges, Healthcare providers and others. If you choose to participate, we request the following commitments:
Indicate your stakeholder(s): Please fill in the stakeholder(s) you regularly engage with in this Excel sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jOakhqk8_3i72bJPpB3q1-kFkA_b21AZmv1HONY1ekk/edit?usp=sharing The research team will work with you to develop a suitable research tool to capture changes with these stakeholders.
Participate in data entry: Contribute to data entry, in the shared format, for a period of six months – January to June 2026. This may include both real-time and past case data. All data will be anonymised before being shared with the research team.
Since there was a conversation around qualitatively documenting community response to domestic violence, please suggest if you are willing to take that up and contribute to the study.
Kindly confirm your organisation’s participation in this research by 31 October 2025
Please feel free to reach out to us over email for any questions or clarifications.
Warm regards,

Dear Members,
Thank you for sharing this detailed intake form. We have reviewed it and would like to offer some inputs based on our experience at the Invisible Scars Foundation.
We feel a few important areas could be added to make the form more holistic:
Health: Questions related to both physical and emotional health are currently missing.
Example: “Do you have any health complaints due to the violence?”
We also include questions on emotional well-being, physical health, and reproductive health, especially for pregnant survivors.
References:
Example: “Do you have names of any references (up to two) who might know about or have witnessed the abuse?”
Additionally, we use a unique ID system to track each case, following the format: Initials of the intake officer/counsellor–Date–Survivor Number (for example, EVV-10:11:25-12, where ‘12’ indicates the number of intakes conducted by that officer/counsellor).
We hope this feedback is helpful. Our team also observed that the current form leans more toward legal questions and could benefit from a broader, survivor-centered approach.
Warm regards,
Ekta
