AWanted Level tells the player how much they are wanted by law enforcement. The wanted level is measured on a six star scale, which in some games, the scale appears in the type right hand corner of the screen.

When the player commits a crime in a city, the wanted scale will start to increase, usually by one star. When one star is lit up, it indicates that the player is wanted by law enforcement. As the the player commits more crimes the level will increase more, attracting more powerful types of law enforcement in the process (see Wanted Level in GTA III Era for more information).

The player can decrease their wanted level in many ways. The player can pick up police bribes around the city, which only decreases their level by one star.. Also if the player is driving a car, they can respray their car at a Pay 'n' Spray that will eliminate all the stars. However, after respraying a vehicle at a repair shop, the stars will start to blink, meaning the police have lost contact with the player. If the player preforms a drive-by or commits a crime, the stars will reappear. Sometimes the player can change the protagonists clothes that will sometimes loose the wanted level.

Before Abbi Jacobson started palling around New York with Ilana Glazer on "Broad City," she wanted to be an artist. The actress and comedian holds a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and spent her early 20s sneaking her illustrations into the MoMA gift shop, in hopes of being discovered by some hapless tourist.

This summer, Jacobson's back at the museum in an official capacity, hosting a new podcast produced by WNYC Studios and MoMA called A Piece of Work. Along with friends like Hannibal Buress, Questlove, RuPaul, and Tavi Gevinson, Jacobson explores MoMA's collection, digging into the ways art inspires and confounds us. A Piece of Work is as educational as it's entertaining, but don't expect it to feel like Art History 101; the 10-part podcast is inspired by frequently asked questions and responses from MoMA visitors, and it's as much about looking at art and not understanding what you're seeing as it is about elucidating an artist's intent.

When John Berger's Ways of Seeing came out in 1972, an entire generation gained access to an often elitist and insular art world. In 2017, A Piece of Work aims to do the same for the digital era. Whether or not you can rattle off facts about Meret Oppenheim or Fauvism is beside the point. Jacobson's podcast is about maybe not knowing what you're looking at, but being open to letting it affect you anyway.

"I don't think anyone's looking for expert advice on the art world, anyway. That's not what I'm there for," she continues. "I want the listener to feel like they're going with someone who's on their level."

Sure enough, listening to A Piece of Work feels like visiting a museum with a friend who minored in Art History. You'll learn new things, but their insight won't feel pretentious. Jacobson's joined along the way by MoMA curators, conservators, and educators, but the most magical moments are when she's hanging out at the museum with other celebrities.

"With Amir [Questlove], we went back into the restoration area of MoMA, which is already a bonkers place to be allowed into. There's just Picassos leaning on the wall. It's a very intimate and bizarrely casual way of seeing their collection," Jacobson says. "I had watched the video works by myself, but then watching them with RuPaul was totally different and way more fun. You know, it just exemplifies the point that there are so many different ways to view art, and that's exciting to me."

The inherent challenge of doing a podcast about art, of course, is that listeners can't see the works being discussed. Though many of the pieces are famous, Jacobson says A Piece of Work is about much more than MoMA's collection, and conversations with her guests vary dramatically. "That's what's cool about art, also. You can be looking at something and it makes you think of something totally different," Jacobson says. "The first thing we're talking about isn't really what the podcast is about. It's about bigger ideas."

Listeners can always Google the art they're learning about, which Jacobson encourages, but A Piece of Work is also about stripping away the pretension of a trip to the museum. "It's not like a deep, deep dive into the art world," Jacobson says. "But for most of us, I think it's a way in that is not only entertaining but really insightful, and it'll make you want to go and see art, which is what I hope that people take away from it."

A Piece of Work debuts July 10, with new episodes released every Monday and Wednesday through August 9, and will be available for download on WNYC's website, MoMA's website, Apple Podcasts, and wherever podcasts can be downloaded.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a female playable protagonist and takes place in and around Miami AKA Vice City, according to a new report. Bloomberg reports that a Latina woman will be one of two "leading" characters in the game, and the story is influenced by the infamous bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.

The report also suggests that the original plan for GTA 6 was for it to be "more vast" in size than any GTA game before, with "early" designs pointing to a map that could cover "large swaths of North and South America." At the time, the project was reportedly codenamed Project Americas.

However, management elected to pare things down and focus on one city in particular, a fictional version of Miami, along with its suburbs. None of this is a total surprise, as leaks and rumors suggested GTA 6 would return to Miami--called Vice City in GTA's world--and feature a female protagonist.

The report goes on to say Rockstar will "continually update" GTA 6 over time to add new missions and even entire cities on a "regular basis." While GTA 6's rumored Miami map may be smaller than the original Project Americas concept, it's still expected to be significant in size, the report said. It added that GTA 6 will have even more interior locations than past GTA games.

In terms of the story for GTA 6, the report doesn't offer anything beyond how it may riff on Bonnie and Clyde. The report does state that Rockstar's developers are taking care to not "punch down" with jokes about marginalized groups, which would be a change from past games that poked fun at all manner of people.

As for when GTA 6 might be released, the report said development on the title is progressing slower than some developers expected. The pandemic caused production delays, the report said, but another factor causing the slower development was due to changes at Rockstar to help improve culture and working conditions. Additionally, the design department was said to have been restructured to help workers avoid excessive overtime. With all of that in mind, developers told Bloomberg that GTA 6 is probably at least two years away, putting its potential release date at some point in 2024 at the soonest.

Bloomberg's report also touches on wider changes within Rockstar Games. An overhaul began in 2018 after staff pushed back against a reported "culture of crunch, bullying, and frat-house antics." Some managers involved were reportedly let go, and now Rockstar is said to be "a boys' club transformed into a real company." It was also reported that Rockstar had planned a "Cops 'n' Crooks" mode for GTA Online but elected to cancel it after the George Floyd protests. Head to Bloomberg to get the full story.

GTA V has sold more than 165 million copies and the game continues to bring in more money from its GTA Online mode and the newly launched GTA+ subscription offering. GTA Online's latest big free expansion, Criminal Enterprises, is out now.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a 2002 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the fourth main game in the Grand Theft Auto series, following 2001's Grand Theft Auto III, and the sixth entry overall. Set in 1986 within the fictional Vice City (based on Miami and Miami Beach), the single-player story follows mobster Tommy Vercetti's rise to power after being released from prison and becoming caught up in an ambushed drug deal. While seeking out those responsible, Tommy gradually builds a criminal empire by seizing power from other criminal organisations in the city.

The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. The open world design lets the player freely roam Vice City, consisting of two main islands. The game's plot is based on multiple real-world people and events in Miami such as Cubans, Haitians, and biker gangs, the 1980s crack epidemic, the Mafioso drug lords of Miami, and the dominance of glam metal. The game was also influenced by the films and television of the era, most notably Scarface and Miami Vice. Much of the development work constituted creating the game world to fit the inspiration and time period; the development team conducted extensive field research in Miami while creating the world. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released in October 2002 for the PlayStation 2, in May 2003 for Windows, and in November 2003 for the Xbox.

Upon its release, Vice City received critical acclaim, with praise particularly directed at its music, gameplay, story, and open world design. However, the game also generated controversy over its depiction of violence and racial groups, sparking lawsuits and protests. Vice City became the best-selling video game of 2002 and has sold over 17.5 million copies. Considered one of the most significant titles of the sixth generation of video games and one of the greatest video games ever made, it won numerous year-end accolades including Game of the Year awards from several gaming publications.

Since its release, the game has received numerous ports to many gaming platforms. An enhanced version was released for mobile platforms in 2012 for the game's tenth anniversary, and a further enhanced version was released in 2021. Its successor, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, was released in October 2004, and a prequel, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, was released in October 2006.
