MacSubmit a ticket for assistance with updating your computer to your new password. In the meantime, you may be able to temporarily use your old password if your new password does not work.
If you use an email client (i.e., Outlook, iOS mail, Android Mail, etc.), you will need to update your stored password. Please see the Setting Up Your Email article to find your client type and instructions on updating your password.
If prompted for a password, enter your new password. If you are having trouble accessing your file shares, and are not prompted for a password, please submit a File Shares & Mapped Drive Request for help.

Students should use the campus-wide UO Secure wireless network. Log in to this or any other UO campus network with your Duck ID and password. If you do not have these or are unsure, please contact the Information Services Technology Service Desk (Tech Desk).
Routers are not allowed in the residence halls. Having a router in an area with wireless coverage is against university policy as it can lead to degradation of the campus network, even when unregistered.
Registration lets us know who is responsible for a device. This allows us to notify the owner if an issue arises, such as a malware infection. Notification is often by email and/or network quarantine.
Upon logging into the Resnet Devices Portal,
ise-guest.uoregon.edu, you would select ADD on the Manage Devices page. You will need to enter a unique Device Name (My Laptop, Xbox, etc.) so that you can recognize your device. You will then need to enter the MAC address in the Device ID field. Please remember to use the WIRED MAC address using colons (:) not dashes (-). You may enter a description, however, it is not required. After submitting your device information, you will be returned to the Manage Devices page. After a few moments your device will appear in the list with a pending status. By selecting a device on the Manage Devices page, you have the option to report the device as stolen or lost. You may also edit the description, or delete the device.

duckid.uoregon.edu, best known as the place where UO students, staff and faculty members change their Duck ID passwords every six months.
When a database or electronic resource link is selected from one of the Libraries' resource pages, users are taken to a Libraries login page that verifies their eligibility to use licensed resources. To authenticate through the proxy service, use the "Login with your DuckID" button, after clicking on a link for a library resource. When prompted, enter your DuckID (the first part of your UO email address before the @ sign) and DuckID password. You should be passed to the resource after authentication.
Users can also drag the UO Libraries Proxy Bookmarklet to their browser's bookmarks bar (be sure your Bookmarks bar is showing first by clicking on View > Bookmarks in most browsers). To access articles through a web search, simply search for the article or database you're interested in, click the bookmarklet and log in with your DuckId and Password. Please note: not all resources users may encounter through a web search will be available through the this method. Please also look for these resources in LibrarySearch or request them through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
The campus VPN service allows you to connect your computer to the campus network as if you were physically on campus. The client VPN allows you to authenticate one time, with access to all library resources as long as you remain logged in. To use the client VPN, you will need to download and install a small application.
Note: If your research includes searching in LibrarySearch, which includes electronic articles, e-books, and other licensed digital content, it is best to first log into the VPN before beginning your search to ensure that you see all resources that are available to UO students, faculty, and staff.
If you are an incoming student and do not yet have a Duck ID, an invitation to the UO Scholarship Dashboard will be sent to you via email 3-7 days after you submit an application for admission. If you did not receive, or are unable to locate this email, please contact us at

Software Licensing
The UO Software Downloads site is a campus-wide initiative to manage software licensing and distribution for common and commonly used software for staff, faculty, and students. The centralized software licensing and distribution will result in:
Campus Licensed Software
The goal of this site is to provide the widest set of campus licensed software to the broadest population while minimizing the costs of delivering and managing the titles. This page is a consolidation of several webpages offering software to UO faculty, staff and students. Have your DuckID ID and password ready as you may need them to access some of the software listed on this site.
For UO users, your username on Talapas will be your Duck ID. (That is, if your email address is
al...@uoregon.edu, your Talapas username will be "alice".) Your password is the same university-wide, and can be managed at the UO password reset page.
The login nodes are for light tasks needed to set up and submit your work. They're not for running significant applications, simulations, etc. Processes that use a lot of memory or CPU will be killed.
Some snapshotting is performed for all directories except for the host temporary directory, and in some cases lost files can be recovered from a snapshot. This cannot be relied on as a backup, however.
(Lmod seperates modules into groups in order to avoid having incompatible modules loaded simultaneously. To search for just modules that can be loaded without switching groups, use module avail instead of module spider.)
If your SLURM job invokes subsidiary calls to 'sbatch', you might also need to include lines like this in your batch script to make sure that the subsidiary 'sbatch' calls also see the account information:
