Hi Friends,

It was in fact worth more than a mere look. Our photographer in Bangalore clicked the moon on Friday and Saturday evenings — at the same time and from the same spot, the Maheshwari Devi temple, Basavanagudi — and voila, the difference stares at you. Saturday’s moon (on the right) was indeed the Super Moon.

Not just bigger, it also looked nearer to you. And the Super Moon did not trigger any natural disaster, at least not till the time we went to press.

The previous one of March 1993 had also passed off without any mishap. In between, there was an almost-Super Moon in December 2008, and that too passed off peacefully.

The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993. I’d say it’s worth a look
