When Is An LRL Not An LRL?

When it's a LRMD (Long Range Metal Detector).

We know that standard metal detectors and LRLs are great partners. In
fact you would be well advised to buy both if you can afford it. What I
would like to see is a standard md at one end and an LRL at the other
end of the same unit. This is perhaps over-simplistic since the LRL
could be in the same general area (shielded etc).

Yessir..and under $1000 would start a revolution. You would then need a
shovel and a green bag on the other end due to the many holes that
would occur. Lightness would be a must and a problem but with a
convertible or extendible LRMD this could be overcome. If you didn't
like either , you could sell it on Ebay.

Now, let me see,..A collapsible fishing rod would also be a great
accessory and chips with that. If you really wanted to have the
ultimate..how's about a telescope and built-in GPS. Now that would be
like those home-on-wheels Harleys I say.
