Altshul will meet for the 7th Day of Pesach, April 5th at 10 am, at
Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place, Brooklyn, NY 11215.

Altshul will meet Shabbat morning, April 10th, in the Rabbi’s
Office at Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place, Brooklyn, NY
11215. Kindershul will start at the beginning of the torah service.
A lunch for new members will follow services. See below for details.
3) Friday Night Minyan, April 16th, 7:00 pm + Hosted Meals
Altshul will meet Friday, April 16th for Kabbalat Shabbat and
Maariv at 7:00 pm in the Beth Elohim Rotunda, downstairs in the
Sanctuary Building, 274 Garfield Place, Brooklyn, NY 11215.
Following davening on Friday, April 16th, Altshul is organizing hosted
Shabbat dinners. These will be small meals and Altshul will match
hosts and guests. Whether you're new to Altshul or not, this is a
great opportunity to meet new people and connect with the Altshul
community.

4) Become an Altshul Shammash
Altshul is currently recruiting shamashim for the upcoming year.
Shamashim are responsible for coordinating the week-to-week operations
of the minyan, from the services and kiddushes to working with Altshul
committee volunteers. If you are interested in taking on this role,

5) Passover Food Drive
This Passover season, participate in the century old custom of Maot
Chitim. For thousands of years, Jews have collected wheat to provide
the poor with matzo and other food items needed for Passover. In
keeping with this tradition, the SA/SJ committee is organizing a
donation drive to provide food to people in need this holiday season.
Your donations will support Matan Besayser, an Israeli based charity
helping families in need and Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees, a
Brooklyn-based charity aiding Haitian refugees in our area. Use this

8) Jewish Funds for Justice Community Organizing Residency
Interested in a career in meaningful social change work? The
Community Organizing Residency (COR), is a new initiative of the
Jewish Funds for Justice. COR is a six-month, paid residency for
people from Jewish, Muslim, Christian and other faith backgrounds who
want to make community organizing their profession. Residents will
gain social justice experience working with leading organizing groups
in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay

9) New Israel Social Change Program for Young Adults
The Yahel Social Change Program is a unique 5-month service learning
experience for young adults between the ages of 21 and 27. The program
is based in the town of Gedera in Israel, and combines hands-on
volunteer work with in-depth learning and immersion. The program is
offered in collaboration with Friends by Nature – a local grassroots
non-profit organization working in the Ethiopian community in the
fields of community empowerment and education. Throughout the program
participants live, volunteer and learn alongside young adults from the
