thought i'd get the ball rolling re format and topic of conversation
for our next meet up.

i liked the format of our last meet up where we (well, toby!) opened
with a quick summary of the material and then we all discussed our
experiences of it. are people happy with this?

and are we going to start to pick specific chapters from a book and
work our way through it? or stick with the screencast/papers format?

either way, suggestions? the next meet up will be upon us in no time,
and if we're going to be reading material then i need to start asap!

if we are happy in keeping to the paper/screencast theme, and since
@monkeyrunner mentioned on twitter about kanban, i thought i'd suggest
the following screencast:

i've not seen it yet, but will do over the next few days.

Hi,
why not having a session about the format of the book club?
And as a personal corcern, why at lunch time?
Is it because of hard to organise, or cost? My thought is it may help
more people to come ...

hey ebru,

its still very early days with the book club, i think we're still in
the investigation stages as to the format, material and schedule.
the only reason it started in a coffee shop at lunch time is that a
few of us work around the city area and have fairly busy evenings what
with the amount of other developer events going on, but i'm hoping
that things will start to spread out a bit so we can meet up in an
evening and discuss topics more.

what could be a idea is for us to decide on some material and people
get together at lunch times in their areas, and over twiter, and on
here, and discuss the topic, then all try and meet up in the evening
to bring it all together. however that does seam a rather grand plan,
and i'm not sure we're close to that just yet!

discussions about the format of the book club is a great idea, but
hopefully that could be done on this group, and keep the time we have
face to face focused on the material.

what are your suggestions on format, material and schedule?

cheers,
chris
