thief shadow skills

Hi,

 

I've always had difficulty  understanding the thief's shadow skills

 

I know that if you keep cloak of darkness up for too long, it  begins to take away hp or mana (can't remember which).

 

So, in short, how is it best to use these shadow skills as a thief?

Hi,

Thief skills uses a shadow cost. To see how much shadow you have type show
shadow. This amount is based off of your thief skill and how well you know
shadow discipline skills. So if you type show shadow it might be 0 out of 30
for a low level person. Think my thief is up to like 68.

so when you use a thief skill that uses a shadow cost it takes away form
that whole amount. nice thing is under most circumstances it drops back to 0
quite quickly.

That is why if you have shadow cloak on and try and make a whole lot of
shadow blades it might start to effect you. If you max shadow it effects
your cloak and other things and then will start to take away hp form you.
just got to watch that. But as you gain levels and proficiency those types
of things wont' happen as much. Note that spamming shadow skills like shadow
strike or shadow decoys eats away at your shadow too. so be careful there.

one thing you can do is if in combat take and drop shadow cloak unless you
really need it.
