Product Manager overseeing Platform Development coordination as well design of all marketplace elements in Istanbul, TURKEY (with global coverage in later years)

 

Overview

We are looking for hands-on and cross-functional product manager for a well-funded marketplace startup headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. The position will not only lead the product launch, optimization and scale-up efforts of the marketplace platform (under development since 2018) but will also spearhead the organizational elements and cultural design of the venture’s product management and development team. We are looking for someone who is highly energetic, self-motivated, agile and has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Top candidates will have a 5 years of work experience (approximately) with a functional and managerial path in technical product management (including back-end and front-end processes, documentation and project management and customer journey mapping) in a demand generation intensive (mobile-first/only) business. In addition to this functional expertise, we are also seeking for demonstrable track-record and passion for starting-building-expanding businesses under an operator-centric, consensus-building and long-term strategic thinking approach. As such, this position will combine subordinate management as well as c-level responsibilities all at once. We are specifically looking for international backgrounded (academic and/or professional) candidates who have fluency in English and Turkish.  

Position will be permanently based in Istanbul and might extend itself to overseas locations depending on the firm’s future expansion plans.

 

What You Will Do?

Understand customer experience deeply, identify weaknesses of the product and increase market share, develop customer experience and create new ideas to accelerate product launch and expansion

Source, partner with and manage external partners for product vision and execution (remote and 3rd party development team)

Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes and cases/scenarios

Ensure the scope and prioritization of activities based on business and customer impact

Work closely with engineering teams to deliver fast market time and optimum resources

Run, coordinate, schedule timely deliverance of sprints, features and project modules

Support and develop product design (including pricing and positioning strategies) in coordination with marketing or strategy and sales departments  

 

 

Who are you?

Strictly Required Skills:

·        An equivalent undergraduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, business, marketing, finance, economics

·        Proven 5 years of experience in product management (We are NOT looking for project managers or service business related Product managers)

·        Robust technical infrastructure with understanding and / or practical experience in software development and web Technologies (Confluence and Gira, etc)

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

·        Relevant and direct experience in managing cross-functional teams and deploying resources under a fast-moving and highly dynamic decision-making environment

·        Comfortable working within the confines of a dynamic startup world, changing and challenging environment

·        Excellence in face-to-face and phone communication, presentation, persuasion as well as negotiation

·        Remote working and time-zone management
