We hope you're coming tonight to help us welcome Dr. Hatem El-Hajj, the dean of Mishkah, the Islamic University of North America. He'll be giving a talk entitled:
Seeking Nearness: Glimpses of those who sought Allah through Knowledge tonight at 7:30PM after Isha prayer.
The Quran and Sunnah mention that knowledge is of the greatest routes with which we journey to Allah. History has a trove of biographies of those who sought knowledge in the most varied of circumstances. There were those who learned in their youth, and many who learned after their youth had long past. There were those whose knowledge was facilitated through the wealth that they spent for it, and others who sought it with no wealth at all. We hope that you see in these glimpses a portion of yourself.
The presentation will be followed by a super international pot lock dinner. No matter your fancy; chapu jinn, makarona bashamill, and the ever famous spicy chicken biryani will all be present. Feel free to bring a tray of food, and if unable, bring an appetite ;)
