I am a medical user, focusing primarily on the Electronic Medical
Record part of Altapoint. I am new to this user group but hope to
find others who are using the EMR portion with whom I can exchange
problems and solutions. If this group does not have that emphasis,
let me know please.
My immediate problem has to do with the manner in which documents
are stored in the Image folder. I use it alot to store and retrieve
medical labs, xrays, etc and am having trouble with the format and
printing/extracting/viewing those documents. Anyone have experience
in this area? Happy New Year., Ron

Hi Ron,

I would also love to have an answer to this problem! At our clinic we
have been scanning them and storing them under the "Documents" tab.
This is a tremendously inefficient way to store these documents
because everything from lab results to EKG printouts to insurance
cards to registration forms gets stored there. Such a pain! Where is
the "Image" folder you're referring to? And what is the trouble you're
having with the format?

Does anyone else have a solution to this problem?

Christiana,  the Image files section is found in the Pt Visit section and there is a tab for it (see attached screen shot).  It accepts TIFF files, not PDFs as the documents section does,  but it does have area by each saved file to indicate what data is in that file, so you can
scan down the list and view the general contents without having to open each file.  It is much quicker to access than the documents file section.  The only problem I am having is the FORMAT:  when I paste an incoming electronic faxed data page into IMages section,  it is too big to subsequently view on one screen,  so one needs to pan back and forth to read it.  AND  when you export it, it becomes compacted and not easily read.  I know it is an image/formatting problem,  I just dont have the graphics skills to know how to work around it.     Maybe someone out there does.    Ron
