AltaPoint Medical Version 6.00.22 -- and credit card processing?

Hello,

Does anyone know what the newer update for AltaPoint Medical Version
6.00.22 is about? Altapoint never seems to describe their updates, and
they randomly appear on their website.

AltaPoint Medical Version 6.00.21, which was posted on the site a few
weeks ago, according a an Altapoint support rep I emailed, was supposed
to address issues with the Creditware (PCCharge) interface -- in that
Altapoint was processing all credit card transactions as though they
were manually input, rather than card-swiped. Manually input charges
cost more than card-swiped as far as the credit card processing company
charges (2.28% versus 1.78%, or similar).

I have not yet installed either the 6.00.21 or 6.00.22, even though our
office is being charged the higher manual credit card percentage. I am
hesitant that installing it will break something else. I have little
confidence in Altapoint development, or rather their Quality Assurance
and testing process. They seem to release releases or updates without
adequate testing. (I could write a book with issues I've had with
tyring the v.7 upgrade).

Anyone have any opinion about either of these newer v. 6's -- or about
credit card processing?
